K&N Drop in Air Filter
Its finally arrived !!
My first K&N. Well I resorted to buying this after driving around town for 2 weeks and nobody has got the Japan type air filter.
Got it from Whybee Ltd on Ebay - GBP39.04 (about RM182 according to Paypal exchange rate)
The cheapest I've found on the websites in Malaysia was going for about RM270.
Guess the extra I could splurge it on the cleaners.
On to replacing it and to experience it for myself all the hype about K&N Filters.
Update: 19 Aug 2013
It definitely feels easier to push the car when you floor the pedal, aside from that, not much else observed. I have a light foot so not much difference really.

ReplyDeletenot many shops carry parts for the X
was looking into the eibach prokit springs.... but cant get it.
planning to send my car for a full check up at TC. How much do they charge?
Which branch do you recommmend? mainland or island or... i was told/heard the one in mainland is very much better... but that was a few yrs back ...
Stopped going to TC mainly because i prefer to watch my car being repaired but once was rudely told by a tech in tc that cust cannot be in service area. since then, i stopped going to TC.
fedup with some mech outside... cannot diagnose the actual problem
even when i simply ask them to just change the parts, they will say : rosak baru tukar ....
i feel something is not right with my ride... not as smooth... steering vibrations...
maybe some knocking sound....
suspected wheel bearing but mech says it could be tyres. so will go balancing n try to get a full checkup at tc
i only like it when it is perfect, a small issue/problem cannot be accepted :)
somemore after looking at your blog and your gluk sound and parts replacements.... i might have to do some parts replacements too as the car is 9 yr old. I owe you a treat too.
Don't really feel much different IMHO with the KNN. Partly I'm quite a sedated driver and don't floor it much. Petrol is expensive these days yo! hahaha.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I understand about ETCM SC, all tech's are trained. It is really how good each of them are at troubleshooting the problem. With troubleshooting, its standard, the junior takes a look at it, anything they think is beyond them, it gets referred up next level and the level after that. Each SC has their own technical lead.
Stick with one or two workshops. This way you build a better relationship with the folks fixing your ride.
As for my gluk problem, it was really the stabilizer bush. Took me months to find it. That needs replacement more compared to a bad bush on the LCA. LCA's can wait a little if you want to save money. Thats my opinion but if a person is a perfectionist they would probably just replace it. At the moment I'm undecided whether to do the whole arm or just pump the bush.
